IELTS moved to computer in 2026.
Computer-delivered IELTS is now the standard. Your mock tests should match.
In March 2026 the IELTS partners confirmed that IELTS would no longer be offered on paper from mid-2026. In most countries the last paper-based test took place on 27 June 2026, and IDP moved every IELTS test in India to computer from September 2026. Listening, Reading and Writing now happen on screen. Speaking stays face-to-face with an examiner, and some markets offer a Writing on Paper option.
The questions and the band scale have not changed. The way students work has. On a computer they highlight with a cursor, type notes, scroll through long passages and type essays against a live word count. Students who only practise on paper and PDFs lose minutes on test day, and lost minutes cost bands.
IELTSArena mock tests are built for the computer-delivered format, with the on-screen highlighter, notes and question navigation your students will use on the day.

From paper mocks to computer-based practice: what changes for your institute
Most IELTS institutes deal with the same four problems. This is what changes when practice moves to IELTSArena.
| Today | With IELTSArena |
|---|---|
| Teachers mark piles of Writing scripts every evening. | Every essay gets an AI band estimate and feedback on each marking criterion within seconds. Teachers review the scripts that need a human eye. |
| Students practise on paper and PDFs, then sit the test on a computer. | Every mock runs in the computer-delivered format, as a full test or one section at a time. |
| Nobody can say which students are stuck at 6.5, or why. | You see every student's band scores by skill, test after test. |
| A full mock test day takes days of printing, invigilating and marking. | Assign a test to a whole batch in a few clicks. Listening and Reading are marked the moment students finish. |
Your students would choose a platform like this on their own. IELTSArena gives your institute the controls.
IELTS software for institutes: mock tests, AI marking and progress tracking in one place
One login for your institute. Students practise, the platform marks and tracks, and your trainers teach from real results.
Computer-based IELTS mock tests for your students
- Full-length mock tests and single-section tests for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
- Practice by question type, for the questions students get wrong most
- IELTS Academic and General Training
- Instant scores for Listening and Reading
- A question by question review after every test, showing what the student answered, the correct answer and an explanation where the paper has one
- Full-screen mock tests, with browser extensions blocked and copy, paste and find-in-page switched off
- Works in any modern browser, at your centre or at home

AI marking for Writing, with expert review
- An AI band estimate on every Writing Task 1 and Task 2 response, with feedback on Task Achievement or Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy
- Expert tutor review when a student needs a trained human reading
- Your teachers stop marking every script by hand and spend class time on the mistakes that cost bands

You decide how each test is sat
- Assign a full mock, a single section or a named bundle of papers to a whole batch or to one student
- Set when a test opens and when it is due, so a mock runs on the day you planned it
- Choose how many sittings a student gets: one, two, unlimited, or none without your approval
- Grant one student an extra sitting when they deserve it, without reopening the test for everyone
- Decide whether students see their own results straight away, or after you have been through them
- Add your own instructions to any assignment, in your own words
Progress tracking for every student and batch
- Create batches and assign a mock or a section test to a whole batch at once
- Trainer accounts, so each trainer sees their own students
- Students join a batch with a code, and nobody is enrolled until your team approves the request
- Every student's history in one place: each test, each band score, each skill
- Students can sit a test again, and the earlier attempts stay in their history
- Weak areas by skill and by question type, for each student
One dashboard for owners and directors
- One view of every student and every batch
- Progress across every batch at once, not one batch at a time
- Plans, vouchers and a wallet in one place: buy student plans as vouchers and hand them out as your students need them
- An activity log of what your team created, assigned and changed
- Partner pricing, so the platform earns for your institute instead of only costing it

Earn from every student, not only spend on software
IELTSArena works on a partner model. Your institute gets student seats at partner rates, you decide what your students pay, and you keep the difference. Your students get a platform they would choose on their own, through your institute.
Partner rates depend on how many students you train each month, so we share them on the demo call.

How accurate is AI scoring for IELTS Writing?
AI scoring on IELTSArena gives a fast band estimate, not an official IELTS score. It checks each response against the public IELTS band descriptors and shows where marks were lost on each criterion.
For practice, speed matters most. Students get feedback on every attempt instead of waiting days for a marked script, so they write far more often. For high-stakes checks, such as the last mock before the real test, expert tutor review adds a trained human reading.
Only the official test gives an official band score. We tell every student this clearly, and we never promise a band.
Built for IELTS institutes, language schools and trainers worldwide
IELTSArena runs in the browser, so it works wherever your students live and wherever they sit the test. It is built for:
- IELTS coaching institutes and coaching centres
- Language schools and English language centres
- Study-abroad and immigration consultancies that run IELTS classes
- Independent IELTS trainers and online tutors, through Teacher Mode
- Schools, colleges and university English departments that prepare students for IELTS
- Review centres and test-prep academies

IELTS software for institutes: frequently asked questions
How do I choose IELTS software for my institute?
Check four things. Does it match the computer-delivered IELTS format your students will sit? Does it give fast, criterion-based feedback on Writing? Can your trainers see results for every student? Can you try it with your own students before you pay? IELTSArena is built around all four, and the trial is free. For a wider look at your options, read our guide to the best IELTS software for institutes.
What does the end of paper-based IELTS mean for coaching institutes?
Paper mock tests no longer match the real exam. From mid-2026, IELTS is delivered on computer in most countries, with Speaking still face-to-face and a Writing on Paper option in some markets. Institutes that keep paper mocks are training students for a format they will not sit. Moving practice to a computer-based platform lets students learn the screen, the tools and the timing before test day.
Can we run computer-based IELTS mock tests for a whole batch?
Yes. Trainers assign a full mock or a single section to a batch, and students take it at your centre or at home. Listening and Reading are scored instantly, Writing gets an AI band estimate, and every result appears in your dashboard.
Can we control when students take a test and how many times?
Yes. Every assignment has a date it opens and a date it is due, and you choose how many sittings a student gets: one, two, unlimited, or none without your approval. You can grant one student an extra sitting without reopening the test for the rest. You also decide whether students see their results straight away or only after your trainers have been through them.
Do students see the correct answers after a mock test?
Yes. After every test a student can go through their paper question by question, with their own answer beside the correct one, and an explanation where the paper carries one. Trainers see the same review, so a class can be taught from the questions students actually got wrong.
How do you stop students cheating in a mock test?
Full mock tests run in full screen, browser extensions are blocked while a test is open, and copy, paste and find-in-page are switched off inside the paper. It is practice software rather than a proctored exam, so for a formal mock we recommend running it at your centre with your own invigilator, exactly as you would today.
How accurate is AI IELTS scoring?
AI scoring gives a fast band estimate, not an official score. IELTSArena checks each response against the public IELTS band descriptors and explains where marks were lost on each criterion. It is built for frequent practice, so students get feedback on every attempt. For high-stakes checks, expert tutor review adds a human reading. Only an official IELTS test gives an official band.
Does IELTSArena cover IELTS Academic and General Training?
Yes. Students can practise IELTS Academic or General Training, depending on their goal, with full mock tests and single-section tests.
How much does IELTS software for institutes cost?
IELTS software for institutes is usually priced per student or per test credit. IELTSArena uses partner pricing: your institute gets student seats at partner rates, sets its own course fee and keeps the difference. Rates depend on how many students you train each month, so we share them on the demo call. The trial is free and needs no card.
Is there a free trial for institutes?
Yes. Every institute that books a demo gets complimentary access: a free 7-day trial for all your students, plus a free CBT Mock Test Day. Book a free demo and we set it up with you.
What is the free CBT Mock Test Day?
It is a full computer-based IELTS mock exam for your current students, run with our help at your centre or online. Every student gets a band score report. Institutes use it to show students exactly where they stand, and as an event that promotes the institute.
Do students need to install anything?
No. IELTSArena runs in a modern web browser. For mock tests we recommend a laptop or desktop, because the real test is taken on a computer.
How long does setup take?
We set up your institute account within one working day of your demo, and your students can start as soon as it is ready.
Will IELTSArena sell to our students directly?
No. Students your institute adds stay linked to your institute, and we do not sell them other coaching. Their data is visible only to your institute and to our support team.
Can independent IELTS tutors use IELTSArena?
Yes. Independent trainers and online tutors can use Teacher Mode to follow their students' mock tests and band scores. See Teacher Mode for details.
Is IELTSArena an official IELTS product?
No. IELTSArena is an independent IELTS preparation platform. IELTS is a registered trademark of the British Council, IDP IELTS and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and IELTSArena is not affiliated with, approved by or endorsed by them. Our mock tests are built to match the published test format and band descriptors.
How quickly will your team reply?
We reply on WhatsApp or by email the same working day.
Which countries do you work with?
Institutes anywhere. IELTSArena runs in the browser, and we run demos in English across time zones. Our team is based in India.
